SPONTANEOUS STRIKE IN AIRMAIL SORTING DIVISION, MUMBAI-400099


As per NFPE R-III & R-IV Divisional Union Notice dtd. 03.09.2014 the staff of Airmail Sorting Division observed the indefinite strike call of the union with true enthusiasm and trade union spirit and completely shutdown the functioning of AMSD, Mumbai-400099 from 00.01 hrs of 04.09.2014. Taking cogniance of the same the circle administration has today (i.e. 04.09.2014) invited the Divisional Unions for negotiations at C.O., Mumbai. Accordingly a meeting was held with the representatives of the R-III & R-IV Divisional Unions by Chief PMG & PMG (MM) in the chamber of Chief PMG. DPS (BD), APMG (PSR) & ADPS (Mails) were also present during the meeting. The negotiations started at 12.30 hrs and ended at 14.30 hrs with a positive note from the administration. Following assurances were given to the Divisional Unions.

1. Special meeting will be held with the Divisional Unions shortly to discuss the shortcomings in the revision of MMS Schedules and corrective measures will be implemented shortly.

2. Staff diverted to BNPL SP Hub Agripada, Mumbai-400011 from SPCC, APSO (I), APSO (FGN) & other units will be repatriated soon after liquidation of accumulated SP mails at Agripada.

3. There will be no closure of AMPC, Mumbai and staff of the same will also be repatriated soon.

4. Diversion of DO/HRO Staff to mail offices will be curtailed.

5.  At least 20% of the pending weekly off of AMSD Staff will be reduced every month.

6. Booking of Night Mail Agent in APSO (FGN) will be looked into considering the operational requirements.

7. Introducing of MMS Points to mail agency branch of APSO (I), APSO (FGN) and AMPC will be discussed in the special meeting to be held in connection with MMS Schedules.

8. Fixed Sunday Weekly off for APSO (Inland) branch will be worked out shortly.

9. Revision of daily wages rates of College Students, Coolies and Short Duty Staff will be announced shortly.

Taking into acccount the positive assurances of circle administration and request made by Chief PMG, M. H. Circle to call off the agitation program the Divisional Unions have decided to defer the agitation program till further communication. All the staff were requested to join their duties and clear the backlog within two days. The Divisional Unions Congratulates all the R-III & R-IV staff of AMSD, Mumbai including the College Students & Coolies for the overwhelming support to the strike call and urges to maintain the same unity in future without falling prey to false rumors spread by anti unionist. It also expresses its heartful thanks to the Akil Hind Tapal Kamgar Sena union representatives for there strong support to the cause of common interest of the staff of AMSD, Mumbai-400099.
